State Eligibility Test in Computer Knowledge & Applications (SETC) by Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (HARTRON)

Information:

The Haryana Government vide Notification No. 42/164/2008-3GS-II dated 7th November 2013 decided that Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (HARTRON) will conduct the State Eligibility Test (SETC). This test will be compulsory for all clerks, whether regular or working on contract, who are to get hike in pay scale.

SETC Hartron Typing Test

1. Objectives of the Scheme:

• To achieve 100% IT literacy in government offices, including word processing, e-mail, data entry etc.
• To promote e-governance projects and their applications.
• To improve the standard and quality of administration.

2. Pattern of Exam:

• Part-I: An online objective test consisting of 50 questions, each with four options. The pass percentage will be 50%. The questions will be on the following topics:

  • Introduction to Computer
  • Introduction to Windows
  • Word Processing
  • Spread-sheet
  • Power Point
  • Internet
  • WWW and Web Browser
  • Introduction to E-mail

• Part-II: Typing speed of 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi. Candidates will have to give typing speed test in English and/or Hindi. Hindi typing test will be in KRUTIDEV010 font. This test will be only for those candidates who have passed Part-I or who have been exempted under Notification 19.09.2019.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

• To appear for SETC Exam, candidates must be existing or newly appointed Clerk, Clerk-cum-Computer Operator, Office Associate, Clerk-cum-Data Entry Operator, Steno-typist, Data Entry Operator and Clerk-cum-Typist in the Government Departments/Boards/Corporations/Agencies of the State of Haryana.

4. Application Process:

• The application has to be made online through HARTRON website https://hartron.org.in.
• All the required information has to be filled in the application form correctly.
• Each application will be allotted a unique registration number.
• After verifying the application form, make the necessary corrections in the form and then pay the fee. Pay the fee only after verifying the correct information.
• The general fee is ₹590/- and for exempted candidates ₹354/- plus bank charges.

 5. Document Verification/E-Admit Card:

Before entering for the exam, one has to bring the identity card, job proof and if one is exempted from computer knowledge test then the relevant certificate. It is mandatory to bring all original and photocopy documents and Aadhar card.

6. Roll Number & Exam Center:

• Entry to the exam centre will be allowed only after verification of Identity Card and Employment Certificate.
• The exam will be held at HARTRON Multi Skill Development Centre (HMSDC), Gurgaon and IDDC, HARTRON, Ambala Cantt. Candidates can specify their choice of centre, but HARTRON may allot any centre.
• It is mandatory to bring the printout of the application form and e-admit card at the time of exam.

7. Issue of Certificate:

Only those candidates who pass both the tests (Paper-I and Paper-II) or exempted candidates who pass only Paper-II (Typing Test) will be issued a certificate.

8. Mode of Fee Payment:

• ₹590/- for both the tests and ₹354/- for only Typing Test has to be paid through online mode.

9. Exemption from Online Test:

If a person possesses the qualification/certificate as mentioned in the Notification dated 07.11.2013 and Order dated 19.09.2019, he/she can get exemption from Computer Knowledge Test (Part-I).

10. General Instructions:

• SETC test will be for existing/newly appointed clerks of Government Departments/Boards/Corporations/Agencies only.
• If signature/photo on application form does not match, the form will be rejected.
• If fee is not deposited, the application will be automatically cancelled.
• A single application form can be submitted only once.
• Disabled candidates must bring recently issued disability certificate.
• It is necessary to bring all documents along with the printout of application form and e-admit card.
• No acknowledgment card will be sent. Download the e-admit card and bring it at the time of examination.
• The application system does not check your eligibility. Please ensure your eligibility.
• If any wrong information is given the application will be rejected.
• Be present at the examination center half an hour before the exam day.
• Only original identity card and employment certificate must be brought to the examination center.
• Use of electronic devices is not allowed at the time of examination.

11. Final Decision: SETC Hartron Typing Test

The decision of the Managing Director/Chairman, Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited shall be final and binding.

All legal disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Chandigarh.
